Protected SEM Bidding Keywords
Unless specifically agreed in writing with The Cumberland Hotels or Clermont Hotel Group, affiliates must not:
- purchase, license or operate any domain name which is the same as, similar to, or derivative “TheCumberland.com” or “Clermonthotel.group”;
- bid on the ‘thecumberland.com’ brand terms, or any of their misspellings (this applies to The Cumberland trademarks and misspellings in all languages, on any of the search engines that currently operate web services; a non-exhaustive list of possible derivatives of the brand term are: thecumberland.com Cumberland Cumberland.com Www. thecumberland.com Cumberland com www thecumberland com www cumberland www.Cumberland thecumerland dot com Cumberlanddotcom Cumberland .com uk thecumberland.c Cumberland Cumberland .com www. Cumberland.com Cumberland co Cumberland couk Cumberland.co.uk www. Cumberland.co.uk Cumberland uk
- use the thecumberland.com brand terms to perform paid search activity across any search engines that operates web services and to that effect, Affiliates must add the ‘thecumberland.com’ brand terms and misspellings as stated above as above as negative matches to their PPC campaigns. A negative match needs to be setup on both exact and broad match terms.
- use the brand term “thecumberland.com” or its derivatives in the Affiliate's ad text for driving traffic from The Cumberland Hotels’ competitors' brand terms to The Cumberland Hotel site nor the affiliate's sites.
- drive paid or unpaid traffic from search engines directly to The Cumberland Hotels pages or the Thecumberland.com site overall. The affiliate must use their own sites for traffic from search engines.
For the avoidance of doubt, the above restrictions or the specific terms of agreement regarding authorised PPC activity shall supersede any conflicting provision that may be found in any section of this Agreement. Should the affiliate not comply with these rules they will be banned from the The Cumberland Hotel affiliate programme with immediate effect and have their commissions declined or frozen without appeal.
Prohibited SEM Display URL Content
Any affiliates that promote The Cumberland Hotel via display are responsible for their activity, regardless of whether they own the websites on which they are promoting The Cumberland Hotel. The Cumberland Hotel reserve the right to withhold commissions if the affiliate breaches The Cumberland Hotels terms and conditions.

Creative: Affiliates should only use creative supplied directly from the Affiliate Window interface, or from a member of the Clermont Hotel Group team.

Social Media
Not Allowed - Affiliates are not permitted to advertise their own websites by posting on any of The Cumberland Hotels social media sites, including but not limited to official Facebook wall: http://www.facebook.com/ CumberlandHotelLondon. Affiliates are not permitted to pose as The Cumberland Hotel on any social media platform.
Allowed - Affiliates are permitted to advertise The Cumberland Hotel on their own branded social pages. If you have any questions or queries please contact your Affiliate Window account manager.
Miscellaneous
Coupons and Promotional Codes
Publishers may only use coupons and promotional codes that are provided exclusively through the affiliate program. The use of voucher/coupon codes which have been found elsewhere, whether found online, via social marketing, forums, or from The Cumberland Hotel’s alternate marketing channels may result in commissions being declined. Publishers utilise unauthorised codes at their own risk, and The Cumberland Hotel may decline commissions where unauthorised codes are used should this be necessary. Authorised codes will be issued periodically alongside sale promotions via the The Cumberland Hotel newsletter, or to discuss specific voucher code promotions, please contact commercialpartnerships@clermonthotel.group
