BroadbandCoop and MobileCoop are part of OurCoop, the only co-operative utilities provider in the UK offering broadband, phone and mobile services to residential and business customers.
Being a co-operative means we are owned by our members and run for the benefit of our customers.
Our vision, as part of OurCoop, is to be a commercially successful consumer co-operative working towards creating a better, fairer world for all. We also aim to help tackle climate change and are committed to working towards a net zero target by 2050.
As a co-op, our commitment is to a fairer, better world!
At BroadbandCoop and MobileCoop, we’re working hard to reduce the impact of broadband and mobile services by creating a low-carbon alternative in partnership with climate activists Ecologi.
In the medium term, this requires us to switch to full fibre broadband, something that’s not possible for everyone today as the new infrastructure continues to roll out across the UK. With our SIM-only plans, you can keep your existing phone for longer or switch to a Fairphone — a phone designed to last, made with fair and recycled materials. Our work with Ecologi offsets emissions through verified carbon credits and supports tree planting around the world.
Every month, OurCoop will fund projects to offset 10kg of our broadband and mobile customers’ carbon footprint.
This continues for as long as you use our services, so a typical 24-month broadband contract will see us offset the equivalent of 120 CO₂ fire extinguishers! We also plant trees each month for our customers, which will contribute to future decarbonisation as they mature over the next 10–20 years.
