Validations

We have taken on board affiliates’ concerns regarding the historically high decline rate on contract sales and have put in place a new validation process to address this. These improvements involve scrutinising decline rates manually at Currys before they are passed to Awin to be approved or declined.

iD Mobile has a returns policy of 30 days, after which time validations will be processed monthly at the end of each month.

Orders that are declined will have the reason for decline indicated at the time of validation. The most common reasons for commissions being declined are if the customer fails the mobile networks credit checks (this is something iD Mobile have no control over) or if iD Mobile itself have to decline the order. If the latter, this may occur for one of the following reasons:

- Customer failed the security check
- Customer called back to cancel the order
- Stock issues led to cancellation

- Payment issues

- Product excluded from commission

- Fraud

What proportion of Orders become Completed sales?

We recognise conversion is key to a successful affiliate programme and we are continuously developing new ways to improve conversion through our site.

In common with other mobile phone retailers, however, a number of iD Mobile orders do not become completed sales. Currently between 40 and 50% of orders made on contract phones and 5-10% orders maded on SIM Only contracts do not become completed sales.

The two main reasons contracts don't get approved are:

- The customer fails the credit check

- The customers credit card is declined

When a customer passes the credit check and if their credit card is accepted they are sent their phone. The phone will then become "live" when the customer rings the network and gets it connected. The customer has up to 7 days to do this otherwise the sale is declined. From time to time we do have stock issues that can result in a declined sale, but the proportion of times this happens is low.
