Octopus Legacy is the place to plan for death and find support after a loss. We built Octopus Legacy to make life easier for people who are left behind.
Our Story
We know the difference a good plan makes and what it’s like when there isn’t one. Octopus Legacy was founded by Sam after his mum died suddenly in a car accident.
Like many of us, she didn’t have a plan in place. This meant that alongside the shock and grief - they also had to contend with a much more stressful wave of admin - tedious hours of paperwork, legal admin and work. All making a tough time even harder than it needed to be.

*Our Current Campaign – Free Will Writing*
Through our free will writing services and campaigns, we've helped over 250+ charities boost their legacy income, supporting their important work.
We run our free will writing campaigns each Spring and Autumn, with our charity partners. Charities cover the cost of the free wills with the hope of getting legacy gifts, but no one has to leave a gift to charity.
These campaigns are a chance for members of your community to tick off an important piece of life admin, with no cost, as well as a chance to think about what they'll leave behind - not just for the people they love, but also for the causes they love.
This is a rare opportunity to offer a free service to your community, whilst still receiving affiliate rates for a high value product.
This Autumn’s campaign is running from September 2nd to October 31st.

What do we actually do?
Our Proactive Planning Services
Helping people get their ducks in a row ahead of time saves their loved ones time, money and stress when they’ll need it the most.
Will Writing
Octopus Legacy a range of will-writing services.
We offer both basic and bespoke (complex) will writing services (you can read about the difference between these types of wills here) and the choice about how to write your will:
- Online (simple wills only)
- Over the phone
- Via video call
- In-person
All of our wills are checked over by our expert legal team.
Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA)
If a will is a document that lays out your wishes for what happens when you die, your Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) allows you to lay out your wishes for what happens if you were to lose mental capacity e.g. in an accident or due to an illness.
Octopus Legacy offer both basic and bespoke LPA services.
