Since 1984, Okabashi  has operated a shoe company in the small town of Buford, Georgia. Our shoes have garnered a loyal following with over 35 million pairs of shoes sold. Today, over 99% of American-worn footwear is made abroad. We are proud to be in the 1% that has chosen to stay and thrive in the USA. Our line of flip flops and sandals is focused on foot health and wellness. We believe that support and comfort are key to a healthy and active lifestyle.

Our Name
Our name is inspired by the Japanese concept of wellness. Our original shoe designs were created using principles of reflexology. The theory behind reflexology is that each area of the foot corresponds to different organs and systems of the body. Applying pressure to key areas of the foot is believed to bring relaxation and healing to the corresponding area of the body.

The Craft
Our approach of designing shoes that promote foot health and comfort carries on today. We take pride in making each Okabashi sandal a source of comfort and happiness. Our shoes with active arch support, supportive heel cup, and massage beads have garnered a loyal fan base. We stand for quality with a 2-year manufacturer guarantee.

Sustainability
We value stewardship and care for the environment. While others strive to become zero-waste and eco-friendly, we've operated this way since day one. Our proprietary bio-based material is made in the USA out of 45% soy by weight and is 100% recyclable. We operate a closed-loop manufacturing system and invite our customers to send back their well-loved and worn Okabashi shoes for recycling and receive 15% off their next purchase.
