The payout is based on clickouts made on trivago. A clickout refers to a lead of a user who lands on trivago and redirects to trivago’s advertising partner sites.

- How does the trivago commission work?
Trivago earns money on a CPC (Cost Per Click) and CPA (Cost per Action) basis. A user lands on trivago, compares prices from different partners (Expedia, Booking, etc.), and when they click out to our partners' websites, trivago earns a commission either when a clickout is made or if a booking is made. As an affiliate, you earn a part of this commission.
- I made a booking, but I do not see it. Why is that?
Trivago is not a platform where users book hotels directly. We only compare prices and redirect traffic to booking websites. We currently do not pay based on bookings. The main reason is that we are not allowed to share booking information with third parties as we are bound by NDAs. Please check the section about how trivago commission works.
