Spice Dept sells fresh, single-origin spices from India and Sri Lanka.
Most spices sold in the UK are around three years old by the time they reach a kitchen and effectively stale, with the oils that give spices their flavour and aroma long gone.
Spice Dept exists to fix that. We source single-origin spices directly from growers in India and Sri Lanka, and get them to customers within months of harvest. Every tin is harvest-dated, so customers can see exactly how fresh what they're cooking with is.
Why partners do well with us
- A story worth writing about. Freshness and provenance give you a genuine angle, and a reason-to-buy your audience hasn't read a hundred times.
- Built for gifting. Our tins photograph beautifully and land well in gift guides, hampers and Christmas edit placements. Sets are our best-selling format and our highest-value orders.
- Strong basket values. Our sets (the Essentials Nine, the Favourites Six and Build Your Own Six) drive an all-time average order value of £35, well above typical food and drink programmes.
- Customers come back. Spices get used up, and reorders are part and parcel of our customer's behaviour. Refill pouches and an expanded range are also in the works.
- Proven conversion. Site conversion rate currently sits at 2.67%, with an 'Excellent' rating on Trustpilot.
