What Happy Caapi actually is.

Happy Caapi is a concentrated liquid extract of the Banisteriopsis caapi vine — one of the most studied and least understood plants in the adaptogen aisle. The vine is native to the Amazon basin and has a recorded human-use history that goes back at least 1,000 years. What's inside it is a family of compounds called β-carbolines, most notably harmine, harmaline, and tetrahydroharmine.

Caapi is not a psychedelic. It is not a stimulant. It is not DMT (in fact we test every batch to confirm DMT is Not Detected). It is not ayahuasca — ayahuasca is a separate brew that combines caapi with a DMT-containing plant. Caapi on its own is something else: a full-vine extract with a distinct beta-carboline profile and no DMT-containing admixture.

The shortest description we've found that's still honest: caapi's β-carbolines reversibly modulate one enzyme in the serotonin system. The inhibition is mild, the inhibition is reversible, and your baseline returns naturally within hours. Some users describe the experience as adaptation; others simply feel it works for them.
