3 generations ago, our founders Xin and Lynn Shui’s grandmother went into the field of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), a choice that would shape the destiny of her family for decades. She dedicated her life to treating patients with various ailments, including neuropathy, degenerative conditions, digestive disorders, musculoskeletal pain, and dermatological issues, passing down her invaluable knowledge to her daughter and granddaughter.
For Xin, this is a lifelong journey. From birth, she was raised in a family steeped in the traditions of TCM, always inspired to follow their principles. She went on to earn a Master’s in Acupuncture and has since treated thousands of patients. At the core of TCM is a deep commitment to identifying root causes and using natural, effective treatments to eliminate toxins.
In a world where we treat symptoms instead of root causes, our founder, Xin Shui, sought a better way. After treating over 10,000 patients, many of whom had hair and skin issues, she knew the importance of addressing root causes.
Xin personally suffered from very dry and sensitive skin. When she moved to a new home, she noticed a significant correlation between the quality of tap water and her skin condition. Her sister and cofounder, Lynn experienced the same issue after moving to New York City. After conducting a deep dive, they discovered widespread exposure to pollutants, chemicals, and micro-contaminants in the tap water system. They knew they had to do something about it, and after years of dedicated research and experimentation, Filterbaby was born.
