Citizens of Soil was born from a simple belief: olive oil deserves better. On a trip to visit family friends in rural Greece, Sarah and Michael fell in love with the vibrant, complex flavour of their olive oil—a far cry from the bland, mass-produced bottles back home. Digging deeper, they uncovered an industry dominated by anonymised production, flat flavours, and a lack of farmer recognition. So they set out to build something better.
Today, Citizens of Soil is known for putting farmers’ names on every bottle, paying them well above market rates, and championing regenerative farming practices that restore soil health and biodiversity. Because better soils make better oils.

The Olive Oil Club
The Olive Oil Club is a subscription service that delivers award-winning, small-batch extra virgin olive oils straight through the letterbox, every 1–2 months. Sourced from regenerative farms and personally selected by Citizens of Soil founder and olive oil sommelier, Sarah Vachon, each oil is a journey in flavour, origin, and sustainability.
