After doing hair in salons, photo work, education & advertising over 25 years, the one area that wasn’t given a professional upgrade were pins and bands. Every year billions are used once and then thrown away. The manufacturer’s count on these single use tools to make money. So, the waste is massive! Over the pandemic, I had a lot of time to think, as we all did. As a professional, I was using the same ones as the consumers. I needed a detailed range & high quality tools to do my job well. Instead of accepting the status quo, I was inspired to change it! I created a new standard in tools and a simpler understanding of hairdressing for both professionals and consumers. This is the only professionally curated line of pins and bands that exists. I’ve also updated the packaging. I designed portable and reusable cardboard boxes rather than plastic boxes or flimsy cards. Everything can be reused, recycled and renewed. I will be introducing an educational component soon to simplify what has been complicated by not having the right tools. At Hairpins by Damian Monzillo we are the only brand for everyone. We work from a single guiding principle, Quality not Quantity™.
