Sabah is an independent brand and retailer that collaborates with craftspeople around the world.
Started in New York City in 2013, Sabah is best known for its handmade leather shoes, aka Sabahs & Babas, inspired by traditional Turkish slippers.
Our footwear is produced, entirely by hand, in our own workshops in Southeast Turkey and West Texas. Our craftspeople are trained in a disappearing skill of hand-stitched shoe construction, unique to Sabah and a few remaining families, which have cultivated their craft over generations. Inside your Sabahs, you will find initials of the craftsman and stitcher responsible for your pair.
Furthermore, our footwear is made entirely of drum-dyed, full grain leathers, including specially tanned water buffalo soles. Sabahs age gracefully, only getting better looking and more comfortable with time. This wear-in, not out process is what makes Sabahs so great!
Our shoes are sold across the world, at our own Sabah Houses in New York City, London, Austin, and Amagansett; our seasonal Sabah Residencies in Nashville and Miami; and through our traveling Sabah Pop Ups from Paris to Portland.
