Pippa Small Jewellery was founded in London in 2008 by eponymous designer Pippa Small. Pippa's work has always been rooted in anthropology, as a brand we pride ourselves on championing community, supporting artisans, using considered materials, and empowering women. We are constantly striving to find ways to create our jewellery with consideration for the environmental impact and the livelihoods of the artisans who work with us, to celebrate creativity in the safest and most transparent ways we can. Pippa Small Jewellery creates treasured talismans, pieces that are more than just jewellery and that remain with you forever. Our signature pieces are simple, timeless designs, every piece is unique and handmade. we work with stones that are hand-cut to enhance their natural beauty with the least interference. We gently facet to follow the stone's natural shape, and all of our gold settings intentionally work around each stone's shape, no two pieces are the same.

We feel it is very important to ensure job security, we do this by creating two collections a year and selling both through our shops in London and Los Angeles, and we also wholesale around the world. The less tangible side of our work is the importance we place in our collections that are made in Afghanistan, Bolivia, Columbia, Myanmar, the Levant, and India; in that we ensure the artisans heritage is recognised through the design inspiration coming from the regions in which we are working.

Pippa has visited gold mines in Africa as well as South America and Asia, and has seen first-hand how dangerous and destructive these places can be, and the importance of putting up safe-guards for both the miners, the land, and the communities around the mines. We worked with the first Fair Trade certified gold mine in the world in 2011 in Bolivia. We witnessed first-hand the changes and structures put in place to protect both humans and the environment.

Bringing women into the workshops is revolutionary in many parts of the world - gold-smithing and stone cutting has traditionally been a man's domain. Turquoise Mountain, an arts charity founded by King Charles, has been a great support for young women to learn a skill and guide them in starting their own businesses in different parts of the world. It has opened new horizons for generations of girls and women, allowing them independence and self-sufficient lives, helping them to contribute to their families incomes, and give them new choices.
