Status Anxiety is an Australian based brand and was founded in 2004 by Will Sked. After struggling to find a wallet for himself that wasn't either a surf brand or a mature ‘dad’ brand, he decided to create his own collection to fill the void. It wasn't your typical start… setting out on foot, hitting up unsuspecting fashion boutiques with some samples in his hometown of Sydney. Much to his surprise, people loved it!
Ever since, we've expanded into bags, sunnies, belts, apparel and accessories and have 6 stand-alone stores across Australia and New Zealand, are stocked in over 300 retailers & boutiques and most recently opened our first NYC based flagship in Nolita. We're all about creating quality, season-less pieces with a mindful approach to longevity, materiality and craftsmanship.

It's essentially just the feeling we get when we compare how we're doing to those around us. We often measure it by things like job titles, if we own our house, our appearance, the clothes we wear... the list goes on. It's no accident that one of the first questions you're asked when meeting someone is, "What do you do?"
We’re not downplaying anxiety, but we are pointing out how this pressure to be 'successful' can lead us to make decisions that ultimately leave us poorer - both financially and in spirit. We're for a life lived simply and investing into things that we really value and that last.
