Please read our affiliate terms and conditions carefully before applying to join our program. These terms and conditions are written to ensure the success of The Balanced Company's and Best Before Market's affiliate program and our valued affiliate partners.
It is each affiliate's responsibility to ensure compliance at all times. By signing up, you indicate your acceptance of this Agreement and its terms and conditions. Thank you for your interest in our program. We look forward to working with you.
DEFINITIONS
As used in the below Terms: (i) "We", "us", or "our" refers to The Balanced Company Inc. and Best Before Market (ii) "You" or "your" refers to the Affiliate (iii) "Our Website" refers to The Balanced Company and Best Before Market properties located at thebalancedcompanyinc.com and bestbeforemarket.com (iv) "Your Website" refers to any Websites that you will link to our Website; "Program" refers to The Balanced Company and Best Before Market Affiliate Program.
ENROLLMENT
After receiving your application, we will review your Website and notify you of your acceptance or rejection into our Program. We reserve the right to reject any application; however we encourage you to contact us if you feel we have made an incorrect decision. Please include all websites that you use in your profile as that will help us make a better decision.
CREATIVE ASSETS & WEBSITE LINKS
Upon acceptance into the Program, creative assets and links will be made available to you through the affiliate portal. You cannot take content directly from The Balanced Company or Best Before Market that is not provided through the affiliate portal. You agree that you will only use the creative assets and links obtained from the affiliate portal without manipulation. Also, please ensure that all domains where you use our creative assets and links are listed in your affiliate profile. You may place banners or links within the content of your website. Any page containing our banners or links must be written in English.
NOT ALLOWED: Any placement of creative in a "Desktop" advertising scheme. This includes any and all 3rd party advertising platforms that use a desktop application to display ads in any form.
NOT ALLOWED: Any display of a merchant window that isn't the result of a direct click by the end-user.
You hereby agree that your Website will not in any way copy, resemble, or mirror the look and feel of our Website. You will also not use any means to create the impression that your Website is our Website or any part of our Website including, without limitation, framing of our Website in any manner. Cookie stuffing, pop-ups, and false or misleading links are strictly prohibited. In addition, you will not attempt to mask the referring url information (i.e. the page from where the click is originating). Using redirects to bounce a click off of a domain where the click did not originate in order to give the appearance that it came from that domain is expressly prohibited and is a direct violation of the program.
Fraud is a serious offense, and will be treated as such. Fraud is defined as any action that intentionally attempts to create sales, leads, or click-throughs using robots, frames, iframes, scripts, or manually "refreshing" of pages, for the sole purpose of creating commissions. ANY ATTEMPTED FRAUD OR FRAUD WILL RESULT IN MEMBERSHIP TERMINATION AND VOIDED COMMISSIONS.
ADVERTISING & PUBLICITY
You are not allowed to do any form of advertising as The Balanced Company or Best Before Market.
You shall not create, publish, distribute, or permit any written material that makes reference to our Program without first submitting such material to us and receiving our prior written consent. If you intend to promote our Program via email campaigns, you must adhere to the following:
Abide by the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations of 2003 (Regulations 22 and 23) with respect to our Program.
Emails must be sent on your behalf and must not imply that the email is being sent on behalf of The Balanced Company and Best Before Market.
COUPON GUIDELINES
If you are enrolled in our Program and your Website promotes coupon codes, you must adhere to our Coupon Guidelines as follows:
You may ONLY advertise coupon codes that are provided to you through the Affiliate portal.
You may NOT display made up / invented discount codes on your site(s) or display discount codes obtained from our non-affiliate advertising, customer emails, paid search, or any other campaign. Any sales registered through manually entered promotional codes or offers promoted elsewhere will not be considered as valid and will be canceled.
On click through, you must link directly to our website. Framing of our website is strictly prohibited.
Cookie Stuffing: You must not mislead customers into clicking on an offer/coupon that does not exist or practice similarly deceptive tactics which are generally accepted as "cookie stuffing." These include, but are not limited to using knowingly expired offers, presenting offers that do not exist, presenting a button that claims to show all offers which sets the affiliate cookie, and technology which generates a click/sets the cookie from the action of copying a coupon code.
If your Website participates in forums where active users of your Website can submit coupon codes, it is your responsibility to ensure that the coupon codes submitted do not violate our Coupon Guidelines.
If you are found to be engaging in any of the aforementioned practices, your participation in The Balanced Company and Best Before Market affiliate program will be terminated immediately and all commissions voided.
DOMAIN NAMES
Use of any of our copyrighted & trademarked terms as part of the domain or sub-domain for your website is strictly prohibited i.e. thebalancedcompanyinc.com, or us.thebalancedcompany.com, or ca.thebalancedcompanyinc.com, or bestbeforemarket.com. You MUST NOT register/buy, create or use domain or subdomains that may mislead users to believe that such sites are a part of The Balanced Company’s or Best Before Market's brand.
SEM/PPC POLICY
You are not permitted to bid or appear on brand searches, misspells or variations of brand searches, nor any combination of brand terms, or at any time be seen bidding against The Balanced Company's or Best Before Market's own Search Engine Marketing activity.
You are not permitted to use the The Balanced Company or Best Before Market trademarks in any paid search activity, whether this is in ad title, ad text, ad copy, display name or display URLs. You may not use our trademark terms in sequence with any other keyword (i.e. The Balanced Company Coupons or Best Before Market Coupons).
You are not permitted to use The Balanced Company or Best Before Market brand name (including misspells and variations) as a sub domain or sub folder.
You must not send traffic through automatic redirects on a website page.
You are not allowed to supplant, by any means, The Balanced Company’s or Best Before Market's identity in social media. You must be easily identified by users in any promotion in social media.
If you automate your PPC campaigns, the responsibility is on you to exclude our trademark terms from your program. You are required to add the trademarks and misspellings of The Balanced Company and Best Before Market as campaign negative keywords in your Paid Search campaigns. We have a strict no tolerance policy on PPC trademark bidding. We will not enter a discussion about when the violation started and when it stopped; you will forfeit all commissions for a minimum of the past 30 days.
You are not permitted to carry out any PPC search activity sending traffic to thebalancedcompanyinc.com or bestbeforemarket.com directly. If you are found running PPC activity, this will result in immediate removal from the program and any related commissions voided.
Trademarked & Copyright Terms: The Balanced Company, The Balanced Company Inc., The Balanced Snack Box, The Balanced Pantry Box, The Balanced Lifestyle Box, The Balanced Discovery Box, Best Before Market, Best Before Box, us.thebalancedcompanyinc.com, ca.thebalancedcompanyinc.com, www.thebalancedcompanyinc.com, www.bestbeforemarket.com.
When generating traffic to your own site(s), you must also abide by the following rules:
SEARCH POLICY
1. Display URL
1.1 You cannot include The Balanced Company and Best Before Market trademarks in the sub folders of the display URLs in your Search Engines Adverts. Example: www.affiliate.com/thebalancedcompany
1.2 You cannot include The Balanced Company and Best Before Market trademarks in the sub domain of the display URLs in your Search Engine Adverts. Example: thebalancedcompany.affiliate.com
1.3 You cannot operate domains which contain The Balanced Company and Best Before Market trademarks for the sole purpose of driving traffic from the Search Engines. Example: www.us.thebalancedcompanyinc.com
2. Ad Title
2.1 You are not allowed to use The Balanced Company and Best Before Market trademarks in your Ad Copy Title
3. Ad Text
3.1 You are not allowed to use The Balanced Company and Best Before Market trademarks in your Ad Copy Body
4. Keywords
4.1 You are not allowed to show adverts on misspellings of The Balanced Company and Best Before Market trademarks.
4.2 You are not allowed to show adverts for a search on The Balanced Company and Best Before Market names and trademarks.
4.3 You are not allowed to show adverts for a search on The Balanced Company and Best Before Market names or trademarks when also using generic terms (i.e. Brand with Generic Terms)
4.4 You are not allowed to show adverts against The Balanced Company and Best Before Market URLs
4.5 You are not allowed to show adverts against The Balanced Company and Best Before Market URLs or variations.
4.6 You are not allowed to show adverts on trademarks, or variations, of The Balanced Company and Best Before Market competitors.
4.7 You are allowed to show adverts for generic terms when using a landing page.
5. Negative keywords list / Trademarks
5.1 You are not allowed to show adverts for a straight search on these trademarked or excluded terms.
SEO POLICY
1. The use of the words ‘The Balanced Company’ and 'Best Before Market' or misspellings is not allowed in the following parts of the landing page:
- Domain Name / URL of the page / Page title.
- Meta description / , ,
or
tags / ALT text of any image in the page
2. The words 'The Balanced Company' and 'Best Before Market' or misspellings may only appear in the body text of the page a maximum of 2 times.
EMAIL CONTACT
We reserve the right to send emails to you for the purpose of informing you of applicable changes or additions to the Agreement or the affiliate program.
CHANGES TO THE AFFILIATE PROGRAM
We reserve the right to change, modify, add or remove portions of this Agreement at any time and may add to, change, suspend or discontinue any aspect of the affiliate program at any time. In the event of any material change, we’ll notify you via email, at which time you may either agree to such changes or withdraw from the Program.
AFFILIATE PAYMENT
The affiliate commission will be approved after the order has been placed and confirmed by The Balanced Company and Best Before Market. We are able to track all transactions generated from your site and operate a 30 day payment window.
PRIVACY POLICY
The Balanced Company and Best Before Market will respect the privacy of its users and will not disclose personal information to third parties without the express permission of you and Your Company. If you have any questions please contact info@thebalancedcompanyinc.com.
Please ensure you have read our Terms & Conditions before you apply for our Program and ensure that you are conducting activity that is in line with the terms and conditions of the Program. If you violate the above T&C, you will have your commissions declined and be rejected from the Program.
