By applying and joining the Travello/BackpackerDeals.com affiliate program, you are agreeing to the following special terms and conditions:
Consumption vs. Reservations. Travello/backpackerdeals.com affiliate program pays out commissions on all reservations that are consumed, meaning the excursion and booking is experienced and attended by the consumer. Any reservation that is canceled is a non commissionable event.
Coupon Utilization and Authorization
If you are enrolled in our Program and your Website promotes coupon codes, you must adhere to our Coupon Guidelines as follows:
1. You may ONLY advertise coupon codes that are provided to you through the affiliate program.
2. Posting any information about how to work around the requirements of a coupon/promotion (i.e. first time customers only) will result in removal from the program.
3. Coupons must be displayed in their entirety with the full offer, valid expiration date and code.
4. You may NOT use any technology that covers up the coupon code and generates the affiliate click by revealing the code(s).
5. You may NOT advertise coupon codes obtained from any non-affiliate marketing channel, including coupon codes from our email, paid search or any other non-affiliate advertising campaigns.
6. You may NOT give the appearance that any ongoing offer requires clicking from your website in order to redeem. For example, if all items on the site have free shipping over $100, you may not turn this into an offer that infers that the customer must click from your site to get this deal.
7. Any code acquired in any other manner than mentioned above is deemed an unauthorized coupon. Use of any unauthorized coupons will result in forfeiture of your affiliate commissions during the time frame used. Three instances of unauthorized coupon use will result in termination from our affiliate program.
Your web site shall not, in any way, copy or resemble the look and feel of the Travello web site, nor shall you create the impression that your web site is the Travello web site or a part of the Travello web site.
Paid Search Advertising
You shall not bid on any keyword in Pay per Click Search Engines (PPCSEs) that is an Travelloor BackpackerDeals trademarks or a derivation of a trademarks, or any other word or term that is likely to cause confusion regarding its affiliation with Travello Some examples of these keywords include, but are not limited to:
Travello, Travello Trips, Travello Activities, Travello coupon, Backpackerdeals.com, Backpackerdeals, Backpackerdeals coupons Travello.com, or any variation or misspelling of both Travello and BackPackerDeals.
Travello may, at its sole discretion and at any time, modify this list to include any other word or phrase.
If promoting Travello using non-branded terms in PPCSEs, you are prohibited from (i) using as display URLs any Travello related trademarks or any variations thereof, including, but not limited to, the variations set forth in the list provided above; (ii) using the language "official site" or variations thereof in ad copy and from adding trademark symbols to ad copy; and (iii) using promotional language such as references to specific coupons and/or free shipping
offers in ad copy.
If promoting Travello using non-branded terms in PPCSEs, you must designate yourself as such by adding "aff" or "affiliate" to your ad copy.
You will not to employ the use of any type of software download or technology which attempts to intercept or re-direct traffic or referral fees to or from, any other website without the written consent of Travello.
You are solely responsible for the development, operation, and maintenance of your web site and, except for links and creative provided by Travello, for all content appearing on your web site. You assume sole responsibility for the accuracy of the content of your web site, including, without limitation, descriptive claims, warranties, guarantees, and ensuring that the content on your web site ("Content") and that the operation of your web site does not infringe or violate
any right of any third party.
You shall not place or cause to be placed on your web site anything which is obscene, threatening, malicious, or which infringes on or violates any applicable law or regulation or any proprietary, contract, moral, privacy or other third party right, or which otherwise exposes you and/or Travello to civil or criminal liability.
You shall comply with all applicable laws, rules and regulations, including, without limitation, CAN-SPAM, and any Internet or advertising regulations or policies of the United States in connection with your web site.
You shall immediately notify Travello of any demand, claim, or action by a third party insofar as such demand, claim or action alleges that your web site, its content or its operation does not meet the requirements of these special terms.
You will use the product images and descriptions only as provided by Travello and only in the manner consistent with the affiliate relationship for the promotion and sale of Travello products.
Fraud Protection
Travello reserves the right to refuse to process any order due to suspected fraud or unauthorized or illegal activity. If such is the case, Travello may reject your order or the Travello customer service department may call you/the customer at the phone number provided to confirm an order. Travello also reserves the right to cancel any accounts or refuse to ship to certain addresses due to suspected fraud or unauthorized or illegal activity. Travello takes these measures to protect their customers as well as themselves from fraud or other unauthorized or illegal activity.
FTC DISCLOSURE REQUIREMENTS
You must include a disclosure statement within any and all pages, blog/posts, or social media posts where affiliate links for our affiliate program are posted as an endorsement or review, and where it is not clear that the link is a paid advertisement. This disclosure statement should be clear and concise, stating that we are compensating you for your review or endorsement. If you received the product for free from us or from the affiliate management team for review, this also must be clearly stated in your disclosure.
• Disclosures must be made at the beginning of the claims and may not appear solely in a “Terms of Use”, “Legal”, “About Us” or other linked page.
• Disclosures should be placed above the fold; scrolling should not be necessary to find the disclosure. (e.g. disclosure should be visible before the jump).
• Pop-up, hover state and button disclosures are prohibited.
• Disclosure policy applies to all social media, even when space is restricted (e.g., tweets)
• Disclosures should be made in the same medium as the claim (e.g. video, text)
