Our Affiliate Program requires that our affiliates disclose their relationship with RING BEAR clearly and conspicuously on their site. We therefore require affiliates to follow the following guidelines. The affiliate program is only for Wedding Band product category which is limited to the styles listed under Gold Wedding Bands, Tungsten Wedding Bands and Wedding Bands on ringbear.com.
First, the disclosure must be clear and conspicuous. In other words, the affiliate disclosure should be clearly visible at the top of each of the affiliates' posts or as close to the actual affiliate links as possible. The disclosure should stand out and be noticeable to consumers; it should not be hidden, nor should a person have to scroll to the bottom of a page or click a separate link to see the disclosure.
Second, the affiliate disclosure is required regardless of the medium the affiliate uses, including blog posts, social posts, video or audio content, podcasts, webinars, infographics, and illustrations. If character limits are an issue, using "#ad" or "#sponsoredpost" will likely suffice. If a video or audio recording is used, the disclosure should be at the beginning of the video or audio recording.
Third, the affiliate must use simple and easy-to-understand language when making the disclosure. Attempts to confuse people are not allowed. The affiliate's disclosure should be written (or spoken) in a way that an average person can understand. Technical or legal terms are not allowed. It is also not enough to simply state “affiliate link” or “buy now,” because people might not understand what this means.
Fourth, affiliates should be aware that we will conduct regular audits to ensure all of the affiliates in our programs are adhering to the proper disclosure requirements. If we find an affiliate in violation, we immediately reach out and provide them with information on what they need to do to be compliant.
