Program Terms

General Content Guidelines

 

  • DO refer to the MegaFood webpage, brand/product guides for approved content
  • DO use t-cross (†) after each product claim (see examples below) and include the FDA disclaimer at the bottom of blog and social post copy. FDA disclaimer: † This statement has not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.
  • DO mention the MegaFood brand as early in the post as possible
  • DO use your unique URL link to direct consumers to MegaFood.com within the blog and social posts (including Instagram Stories)
  • DO include a “sponsored by” disclaimer at the top of all blog posts, a hashtag in social posts (#sponsored or #ad), and mentioned within video content

 

  • DON’T state or imply that any MegaFood product can diagnose, treat, cure or prevent disease or use any language that is not truthful or is misleading
  • DON’T make claims or statements that are not consistent with approved content from the MegaFood web page or brand/product guides

 

Photo & Video Guidelines

 

 

  • DO make sure your photo/video is well lit and captured with a clean camera, with MegaFood product prominently featured
  • DO include lifestyle shots that align with product use
  • DO ensure the brand logo is visible in every photo
  • DO speak about your experience with the product in an energized and authentic tone. Try to be clear with one or two things you like about the product and how it fits into your day or routine but keep the video concise.

 

  • DON'T apply filters that alter colors of label or have a glare on the product
  • DON'T include food, flowers or herbs that aren't in product/ingredients (houseplants plants are ok)
  • DON'T compare us to other labels or products from other brands in the photo
  • DON'T tear off the top to open bag until product shot has been captured

 

 

Brand & Product Messaging

 

Below are a few brand and product-specific messaging examples. Please reference our product pages on megafood.com for additional messaging and approved language or contact MegaFood if you have any questions.

 

Brand-specific:

 

DO say:

  • MegaFood is made with real food and added nutrients, OR
  • MegaFood pairs vitamins and minerals with real food

 

DON’T say:

  • Whole food supplement, 100% whole food, raw, food-based, natural
  • Made in the USA
  • Made with organic ingredients

 

Product-specific:

 

Turmeric products

 

  • Do use approved claim: helps support a healthy inflammation response†
  • Don't make unapproved claims around pain, anti-inflammatory, arthritis, etc.

 

Immune products

 

  • Do use approved product language: helps support immune health
  • Don’t infer they can treat or prevent diseases such as colds, flu, COVID, etc.

 

Blood Builder (iron)

 

  • Do use approved product claim:  Clinically shown to increase iron levels without side effects.*†  *Study available at bloodbuilder.com
  • Don’t infer anemia, which is a disease

 

Baby & Me 2 (pre & postnatal) products

 

  • Do use the approved product claim: 23 key nutrients plus real food to support optimal nutrition for mom + baby.†
  • Don’t infer pre & postnatal disease claims like preeclampsia, anemia, birth defects

 

Women’s multivitamins

 

  • Do use the approved product claim: supports optimal health and well-being†
  • Don’t make unapproved claims that have no substantiated evidence, such as “absorbs easily”

 

Probiotics (any MegaFlora products)

 

  • Use the approved product claim: Supports intestinal and immune health†
  • Don’t use disease state claims like “this helped me with my IBS”
