Thank you for your interest in joining our programme, if you have any questions or are unsure of our terms please email affiliates@thepetlabco.com
Unless explicitly authorised otherwise by PetLab Co., the following Programme restrictions apply:
What you can and cannot say
Our range of vitamins and supplements are not to be used to treat diseases. They are products that can support, maintain, promote the health of a pet. Therefore, you cannot talk about diseases or conditions; supplements are not products that cure.
Consequently, you cannot use words such as: treat, prevent, cure, mitigate and similar overt or implied disease claims.
A good example of how to promote our product would be:
Helps support joint health and mobility
An example of how not to promote our products would be:
Helps treat and prevent arthritis
When you promote our products, please do not mention any disease name or reference to a disease
Chronic, pain, antibacterial, anti inflammatory, improve, relief, limping, soreness
The word Chronic cannot be used as it refers to a pup problem that must be treated properly with medicines and not with supplements. The word Pain refers to the suffering that the pup is going through and consequently cannot use a supplement to solve it. A supplement helps a healthy animal, it doesn't cure a disease.
Remember that supplements maintain, support a healthy pet, they do not treat any health issues.
The words ‘’antibacterial’’ and ‘’anti-inflammatory’’ should also be avoided. These are indicative of a medicine, because they can be the functions of a medicine. Using a softer lineage instead is allowed, therefore emphasizing the properties of a known product to lower bacteria or inflammation.
Examples of how you can promote our products:
These chews help boost (or support) overall mobility.
These chews contain bacterial and inflammatory lowering properties
Examples of how not to promote our products:
These chews help improve overall mobility.
These chews contain antibacterial and anti inflammatory properties
Other terms to avoid
Antifungal, Antimicrobial, Antiviral, Unbearable, Hyperactivity, Anxious
It is necessary to detail the event to make it subject to the supplement.
Do not use: His occasional itching...
Use: the itching was unbearable...
In distress
Also, this term for the reasons outlined above indicates a problem that the pet is facing, consequently requires a treatment that a supplement could not offer.
Do not use: Seeing our pups in distress
Use: Seeing our pups discontent
The term diarrhea specifically refers to a serious problem that cannot be cured with supplementation.
Do not use: My dog was having diarrhea
Use: My dog was having loose stools (or loose motion)
Here below some more examples of alternatives to some drug claims
Disease (disease name) -> Issues, challenges, discomfort
Limping, soreness, pain -> Stiffness, fiction, discomfort when walking, mobility issues
Chronic -> Ongoing, persistent
Prevent, treat, improve -> Support, maintain, may help, promote, assist
Diarrhea -> Loose stool, loose motion
Hot spots -> Skin conditions, skin discomfort, skin irritations
Arthritis (or various of it) -> Joint issues

Linking to our website:
Upon acceptance into the Program, links will be made available to you through the AWIN platform. Your acceptance in the Program means you agree to and abide by the following.
- You will only use linking code obtained from the AWIN platform without manipulation.
- All domains that use your affiliate link must be listed in your affiliate profile.

- Your website may not show up in a superior position in search for a term directly linked to one of our brands. If it does, you must take the appropriate steps to either no longer be indexed for the phrase or strip keywords used in on-page SEO tags and text to fall out of the index for the relevant term(s).
- You may not engage in cookie stuffing or include pop-ups, false or misleading links on your website. In addition, wherever possible, you will not attempt to mask the referring URL information (i.e. the page from where the click is originating).
- Using redirects to bounce a click off of a domain from which the click did not originate in order to give the appearance that it came from that domain is prohibited.
If you are found redirecting links to hide or manipulate their original source, your current and past commissions will be voided, and/or your commission level will be set to $0 without warning. This does not include using “out” redirects from the same domain where the affiliate link is placed.
Discount codes
PetLab Co. encourage affiliates to contact us for exclusive voucher/discount codes and additional incentives.
Affiliates may only promote codes that are provided through the PetLab Co. affiliate programme (either through our account or directly from PetLab Co's Affiliate Manager).
We reserve the right to withhold payment of commission if unauthorised voucher codes are used in an affiliate sale. We appreciate that consumers may use voucher codes that they have found via a site other than that which is awarded the sale and this will be investigated before decisions on commission payment are made. Any affiliate found to be displaying unauthorised codes may also have their commission set to zero until the code(s) are removed.
Where voucher codes are issued with an expiry date this should be clearly displayed, and codes should be removed or explicitly marked as expired after this due date unless you are advised otherwise. Any affiliates displaying expired codes without marking them as being expired may be suspended from the programme. Please also ensure that you observe IAB voucher code best practice guidelines.
Coupon attribution:
Affiliates whose primary business is posting coupons, who are viewed by the Program as being a coupon site, and/or who are tagged as coupon in our system, may not be paid commissions for sales generated without a corresponding valid coupon code. Valid codes are defined as codes that are made available to the affiliate channel in general, through newsletters or the AWIN system as part of this Program, or directly or privately to you. Coupon codes that are not real, expired, not specific (i.e. up to 40% off sale items) or are long-term sitewide offers that do not require a code may not considered valid codes and you will not be given commission on these orders.
