As a regulated UK online pharmacy, we must ensure all promotions follow MHRA, GPhC, and ASA/CAP advertising standards. Affiliates are required to:
✅ Best practices
Promote Pharmacy Online as a trusted, UK-regulated pharmacy and highlight the benefits of our online consultation services
Share educational content (e.g. health guides, blog posts, lifestyle advice) that responsibly directs users to our service pages
Use approved imagery that reflects healthcare, wellbeing, or lifestyle themes
Disclose affiliate partnerships clearly (e.g. “#ad” or “affiliate link”), in line with ASA/CMA rules
Keep messaging factual, responsible and educational
Promote the consultation service, not prescription medicines directly
❌ Prohibited practices
Do not promote or advertise individual prescription-only medicines by name (e.g. weight-loss injections). Avoid naming, showing, or making claims about products such as Ozempic, Saxenda, Wegovy, or similar medicines
Do not use “before and after” imagery, unrealistic claims, or suggest guaranteed outcomes
Avoid displaying images of injection pens, vials, packaging, or using suggestive emojis
Do not suggest medicines can be obtained without clinical review (all treatments require consultation)
Do not bid on trademarked keywords in PPC campaigns
Do not compare Pharmacy Online prices with competitors
Avoid targeting vulnerable groups or using messaging that could promote unhealthy behaviours
Do not exploit insecurities or vulnerable individuals based on weight, body image, or health conditions, and avoid misleading urgency
Compliance & Enforcement
Non-compliant content must be amended or removed upon request. Serious or repeated breaches may result in removal from the programme and commission rejection. The MHRA may also take enforcement action against illegal advertising of prescription medicines. The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) is the governing body responsible for enforcing these regulations. They may choose to prosecute any legal breaches. For further information on advertising regulations, please refer to the MHRA Blue Guide.
