  1. GENERAL REFERENCE TO CONCEPT2 ERGS

Concept2 manufactures ergometers or “ergs.” These are devices that measure work. When referring to our family of indoor training equipment, the following references are acceptable:

  • Concept2 RowErgs, SkiErg and BikeErg (preferred)

  • Concept2 machines

  • Concept2 indoor training equipment

  • Concept2 ergs

  • Concept2 ergometers

    Not acceptable:

  • Indoor RowErgs (SkiErg, BikeErg)

CONCEPT2 ROWERGS

  • indoor rowing machine(s) (generic, can be used to refer to competitor products)

  • dynamic rowing machine(s) (generic, can be used to refer to competitor products)

“Concept2 RowErgs” should always be used in the first reference to the products in any piece of communication, unless it’s necessary to signify the model. In that case, use “Concept2 RowErg” (or “Concept2 Dynamic RowErg”) in the first reference. After the first reference, it is acceptable to use any of the above names to describe it.

Example: Concept2 manufactures indoor rowers in Morrisville, Vermont. All Concept2 RowErgs offer a high-quality, full-body workout. The RowErg is our best-selling model.

  • Erg, erg or the erg

To differentiate between static and dynamic RowErgs, use the model name when possible. For example: “The footprint of the Dynamic RowErg is smaller than that of the Model D and Model E.”

To differentiate between Concept2 products and all rowing machines (including competitors’ products), “indoor rowing machines” and “dynamic rowing machines” can be used.

Example 1: “There are currently many options of dynamic rowing machines in the market, including the Concept2 Dynamic RowErg.”
Example 2: “There are currently many options of dynamic indoor rowers in the market, including the Concept2 Dynamic RowErg.”

The Dynamic should be considered part of the family of indoor rowers. For example: “This challenge can be completed on any RowErg.” Or: “The Concept2 Dynamic RowErg is designed to meet the needs of the competitive on water athlete. The RowErg offers a full-body low impact workout...” (here, the benefits of the RowErg are for all models).
