Program Terms & Conditions
1. Commission Structure
Commission is calculated on net qualifying sale value — the order subtotal after discounts, excluding shipping and tax. Commission applies to all qualifying products in the referred order, not only the linked product. Commission rates are set within the Awin platform and may vary by publisher tier or promotional period. Contact our affiliate team to discuss your rate.
2. Cookie Duration & Attribution
Cookie duration: 30 days from the affiliate's qualifying click
Attribution model: Last-click
When multiple affiliates are involved in a single customer journey, the most recent qualifying click receives credit. California Design Den's own marketing channels — including email, direct, and paid search — take priority and will override affiliate attribution where overlap occurs.
3. Payment Terms
Payment schedule: Monthly, paid by the 7th of the month following validation
Minimum payout threshold: $100
Validation period: 60 days from sale date
Return window: 60 days — commissions are not confirmed until this window closes
Commissions on returned, cancelled, or fraudulent orders are reversed before payment. Commissions already paid on subsequently returned orders will be deducted from future payments.
4. Permitted & Prohibited Activities
The following sets out what is permitted and what is prohibited. Violations are grounds for immediate commission reversal and removal from the program.
| Activity | Status |
|---|
| Bidding on brand name or misspellings in paid search | Prohibited |
| Cookie stuffing, forced clicks, adware, toolbars | Prohibited |
| Creating or distributing unauthorized coupon codes | Prohibited |
| Listing on coupon/deal aggregator sites (e.g. RetailMeNot) | Prior written approval required |
| Cashback and loyalty sites (e.g. Rakuten, Honey) | Permitted |
| Incentivized traffic without prior written approval | Prohibited |
| Scraping website for pricing, images, or content | Prohibited |
| Fake reviews or fabricated testimonials | Prohibited |
| Registering domains with our brand name | Prohibited |
5. Content Standards & Approval
Affiliates are responsible for keeping all promotional content accurate, current, and consistent with the California Design Den Affiliate Brand Guidelines (Part 2 of this document). California Design Den reserves the right to request removal or correction of any content that misrepresents our brand, products, pricing, or credentials. Where we provide pre-approved copy, claims, or creative assets, these take precedence over independently written content.
6. FTC & Legal Compliance
All content containing affiliate links must clearly and conspicuously disclose the affiliate relationship in accordance with FTC guidelines. Accepted disclosures include #ad, #affiliate, or #sponsored — placed visibly and not buried in disclaimers or below the fold. Failure to disclose is grounds for immediate removal from the program. Affiliates are solely responsible for their own content, tax obligations, and compliance with applicable laws in their jurisdiction.
7. Good Housekeeping Seal — Reference Rules
The Good Housekeeping Seal is one of our most significant trust credentials. Use it carefully and only as described below.
Approved language: "Select California Design Den collections have earned the Good Housekeeping Seal" / "backed by the Good Housekeeping Seal" / “tested by the Good Housekeeping Institute”
Prohibited language: Do not say the Seal was certified, won, awarded, or a seal of approval. Do not claim California Design Den is the first or only brand with the Seal. Do not display the GH Seal badge — text reference only. Do not imply the Seal covers all products — it applies to select collections only.
8. Trademark & Intellectual Property
Affiliates receive a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to use California Design Den trademarks solely to promote products within this program. This license ends immediately upon leaving the program or upon notice of termination. Affiliates may not register domain names, social handles, or business names containing "California Design Den" or any confusingly similar variation.
9. Program Modifications
California Design Den may modify commission rates, cookie duration, or program terms with 14 days written notice to active affiliates. Continued participation after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
10. Termination
Either party may terminate the affiliate relationship at any time without cause. Upon termination, the affiliate must remove all California Design Den links, banners, and branded content within 7 days. Validated commissions earned prior to termination will be paid on the next regular payment cycle.
11. Limitation of Liability
California Design Den's liability to any affiliate is limited to the validated commissions owed under these terms. We are not liable for lost revenue, indirect damages, or tracking discrepancies caused by third-party platforms, browser restrictions, or the affiliate's own implementation. Affiliates promote our products at their own commercial risk.
