Rest Religion Affiliate Branding Guidelines for Compliance and Claims
To ensure consistency and compliance when promoting Rest Religion products, affiliates must adhere to the following branding and communication guidelines, especially when making claims about product benefits. These guidelines are designed to protect both affiliates and Rest Religion from misleading advertising or claims that could violate regulations.
1. Product Claims & Language
Affiliates are responsible for using only approved claims and descriptions provided by Rest Religion. Any additional or exaggerated claims not supported by clinical evidence, customer reviews, or the product’s official description are strictly prohibited.
Approved Claims:
- Rest Religion products are designed to restore and recover skin from stress and fatigue.
- Potent, science-backed ingredients like Retinal, MATRIXYL® Peptides, and Bio-retinols deliver visible results with minimal steps.
- Our formulations are suitable for sensitive skin and aim to reduce signs of aging, dullness, and dehydration.
- “Glow like you’ve slept, even if you haven’t” – emphasis on improving the skin's appearance, even with a stressful lifestyle.
Prohibited Claims:
- Do not claim that Rest Religion products provide “instant” results or use phrases like “miracle cure” or “overnight transformation.”
- Do not make medical or therapeutic claims (e.g., “treats acne,” “heals eczema,” “prevents wrinkles”).
- Avoid making statements that suggest permanent results (e.g., “erases wrinkles permanently”).
- Do not guarantee results, as individual skin types and conditions may vary.
2. Legal Compliance with FTC Guidelines
All affiliates must comply with Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines on advertising and endorsements. When promoting Rest Religion products, you must:
- Disclose Affiliate Relationships: Always include a clear disclosure (e.g., “This post contains affiliate links. I may earn a commission on any sales made through these links at no extra cost to you.”).
- Disclosures must be clearly visible and placed at the beginning of the post, article, or social media content.
- Avoid any misleading tactics, such as hiding disclosures in footnotes or behind links.
3. Accurate Representation of Results
Affiliates must represent typical results that align with the claims supported by Rest Religion’s research and customer feedback. Statements like “100% of users saw results” are only allowed if they are part of the product’s official claims.
Do’s:
- Focus on general improvements in skin texture, hydration, and radiance based on supported claims.
- Use language like “may help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles” rather than “will eliminate.”
- If using before-and-after images, ensure the photos are authentic and unaltered.
Don’ts:
- Do not promise specific results that cannot be backed by evidence, like “completely eliminates dark circles” or “prevents all signs of aging.”
- Avoid using hyperbolic language such as “guaranteed to work for everyone” or “best skincare ever.”
4. Use of Testimonials and Reviews
- Testimonials or customer reviews must be genuine and reflect actual experiences with Rest Religion products.
- If using testimonials, ensure they are compliant with FTC guidelines by disclosing any material connections (e.g., if the customer received free products or compensation in exchange for a review).
- Do not make claims based solely on testimonials that contradict the official product claims.
5. Imagery and Branding Compliance
- All product images and promotional banners must be provided by or approved by Rest Religion.
- Do not alter product images in ways that misrepresent the product’s appearance or packaging.
- Imagery used must accurately reflect the brand's tone—clean, modern, minimalistic, and approachable.
6. Claims Specific to Ingredients
When discussing specific ingredients in Rest Religion products, use only approved descriptions. For example:
- Retinal: “Encapsulated Retinal promotes skin renewal and helps reduce the appearance of fine lines.”
- MATRIXYL® Peptides: “Helps to visibly smooth wrinkles and support skin structure.”
- Bio-retinols: “A gentle, plant-based alternative to retinol, helping improve skin texture.”
Do not claim:
- That these ingredients will “heal,” “cure,” or “treat” any skin conditions.
- That they are suitable for medical treatments without supporting evidence.
7. Restriction on Comparative Advertising
- Avoid direct comparisons to competitor products unless authorized by Rest Religion and supported by factual, verifiable data.
- Do not make claims like “better than [competitor brand]” without evidence.
8. Review of Marketing Content
To ensure all promotions comply with these guidelines, affiliates are encouraged to submit promotional content to Rest Religion for review, especially when discussing product claims or benefits.
Please note – this program operates with a 7-day closure notice period. Rest Religion reserves the right to terminate affiliate relationships with 7 days’ notice if guidelines are violated or for any other reason.
