Great Rail Journeys Affiliate Programme T&C’s

All affiliates who apply to join and are accepted onto the Great Rail Journeys affiliate programme agree to adhere to the following T&C’s.

Affiliates

Great Rail Journeys is a premium brand and as such never offer discounts, voucher codes or have ‘sales’ of any description. As such Great Rail Journeys do not wish to partner with cash back, voucher code directories, offer led websites or any websites offering any incentive to make a booking or request a brochure from Great Rail Journeys.

All affiliates which apply for the programme will be vetted prior to acceptance. If any affiliates have any doubt, would like to ask if they will be accepted or would like to know the reason for being declined acceptance onto the programme please contact Cara Murray in the account management team.

PPC Policy

Affiliates are requested to negative -greatrail & -great rail journeys on broad match within their PPC accounts.

Affiliates are not permitted to bid or appear on brand searches (e.g. Great Rail, Great Rail Journeys, Great Rail.com)

Affiliates are not permitted to bid or appear on extended or hybrid brand searches (e.g. Great Rail voucher codes, Great Rail Journeys breaks, Great Rail Journeys escorted holidays)

Affiliates are not permitted to bid or appear on misspells or variations of brand searches (e.g. gr8rail, GreatRail Journeys)

Affiliates are not permitted to use the Great Rail Journeys brand term in any paid search activity, whether this is in ad text, copy or display URLs.

Unless written permission has been given by MediaCom, no affiliate is allowed to directly link to the Great Rail Journeys website (www.greatrail.com) from any PPC activity (including via re-directs).

Unless written permission has been given by MediaCom, no affiliate is permitted to use branded URL’s to promote Great Rail Journeys (e.g. www.greatrailholidays.com, www.greatrailescortedholidays.co.uk).

Great Rail Journeys is actively using brand protection software and any affiliate contravening the above PPC policy will be contacted to inform them of the contravention and risk being suspended or removed from the programme without notice, including having all commissions declined and/or reversed.

Product Feed Policy

  • The format of the datafeed may be subject to change and any costs incurred by the affiliate in changing their website to use the revised format is not the responsibility of Great Rail Journeys Limited.
  • Data included within the XML feed is confidential and should not be shared with third parties. This includes the security of passwords to access the XML feed if applicable.
  • The Operator reserves the right to block the IP addresses of agents or affiliates found to misuse the datafeed.
  • It is the affiliate’s responsibility to keep tour details up-to-date as tour itineraries, availability and pricing are subject to change.
  • Factual information within tour itineraries should not be changed to avoid misleading customers.
  • Great Rail Journeys tour names should not be used within the page URLs on affiliate websites.
  • Images on www.greatrail.com may be subject to licence agreements with image libraries and cannot be scraped or linked to from third party websites without prior consent from Great Rail Journeys.
  • Great Rail Journeys is not liable for any loss of business due to any technical issues with the datafeed, viruses, etc. No guarantees are provided regarding the availability of the datafeed.
  • Great Rail Journeys retains the right to exclude affiliates from the distribution of our XML datafeed for failure to adhere to our terms and conditions.
  • Content should be reviewed and updated at least once each month to ensure any changes are incorporated into each promoted tour.
  • Tour content must be removed from the affiliate’s website once the final departure date has passed. Tours should not be archived to avoid confusing customers with out of date itineraries.
  • Great Rail Journeys retains the right to request that our tour content is removed from third party websites. Content must be removed within 10 working days of any request being made.
  • Affiliates should provide a list of website URLs where Great Rail Journeys content is featured so that this can be reviewed as required.
  • Any negative feedback received by affiliates about featured Great Rail Journeys tours should be directed to the Company’s E-Commerce Manager for follow-up.
  • Content from review websites about the Operator’s tours should not be featured on affiliate websites.
  • Tour prices in the XML datafeed are updated weekly. In the event of prices changing between the weekly updates, the current price being charged by the Operator prevails.
  • Template designs from the Operator’s websites should not be copied for use on the affiliate’s website.
  • Affiliates must advise the Operator if they become aware of any issues which may compromise the security of its website and content.
  • The affiliate should provide a clear Privacy Policy on their website detailing how customer data may be used, the use of cookies, etc.
  • Any data collected from customers which purchase one of the Operator’s tours should not be sold to third parties.

 

Branding

Please could affiliates kindly not hard code creative onto their websites. This will ensure we can keep the creative up to date and maintain a consistent message between your site and Great Rail Journeys.

Affiliates are not permitted to lift copy, content or frame the Great Rail Journeys website as this could cause issues with duplicate content. If affiliates are unable to write unique copy themselves please contact Elizabeth Collin in the account management team for assistance.

Brochure Requests

Great Rail Journeys will be closely monitoring all IP addresses and referrer URL’s of affiliates generating all conversions – in particular brochure requests. Any affiliates suspected of unscrupulous or fraudulent activity will be contacted and risk having all commissions either declined, reversed or payment withheld.
